Mask Mandate Policy Restored at AC Transit

Mask Mandate Policy Restored at AC Transit

June 02,2022

AC Transit is restoring our mask mandate policy, effective Friday, June 3, 2022. Riders will again be required to wear a face mask while utilizing transit throughout our entire service area until further notice.

The immediate change in policy, from voluntary to mandatory, is because of breaking news from the Alameda County Health Officer that COVID-19 cases are dramatically spiking.  In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), continue to strongly recommend that transit riders wear face masks.

As a reminder, personal protective equipment (PPE) dispensers at the entrance of each of our buses will have complimentary, disposable face masks and hand sanitizer available for the convenience of our riders.

We know that policy changes can be frustrating to everyone.  However, in support of our frontline workers and greater community, we ask our riders to respectfully comply with the restored mask mandate.

We thank you for your understanding and loyalty in riding AC Transit.
