Title VI Notice of Public Rights
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs that receive federal funding. AC Transit is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in , or denied the benefits of, its services on the basis of race, color, or national origin as protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
If you'd like more information about the Title VI program, you may contact the Title VI staff at titlevi@actransit.org or (510) 891-5470. If believe you have been subjected to discrimination under Title VI, you may file a written complaint. Please download a printable complaint form and mail it to us at the address listed on the form.
A complaint may also be filed with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Office of Civil Rights via mail (Federal Transit Administration, Office of Civil Rights, Attention: Complaint Team, East Building, 5th Floor – TCR 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE Washington, DC 20590) or email FTAcivilrightscommunications@dot.gov. Complaints should be filed within 180 days of the alleged violation.
