November 2021 Employees of the Month
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, Richmond, East Oakland and Hayward. Winners from each division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

SUPERVISION
Sonja Higgins
Transportation Supervisor
Transportation Supervisor Sonja Higgins is always helpful to Operators and her fellow Supervisors. She is always ready to step up at a moment’s notice and fill in when needed. Supervisor Higgins is a True Team Player.
CENTRAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY
John Sutter
Journey Level Mechanic
John Sutter works in the CMF Unit Room Small Component shop. John is dedicated to building good-quality components in a timely manner. He always shows a positive attitude towards learning, working with a high level of dedication, and passion for turning out quality components. AC Transit is lucky to have an employee with his conviction and determination for excellence. Thank you for a job well done.
EMERYVILLE DIVISION
Richard Esquibell
Senior Body Mechanic
Coach 7026 was going to be used for a VIP that was scheduled for 8/31/21. On 8/30/21, the coach was involved in an accident that damaged the left rear corner. Body shop mechanic Richard Esquibell quickly jumped into action to begin repairing the damaged area. Richard had this coach completed by the end of his shift. Thank you for your initiative and dedication.
Kade James
Bus Operator
Kade James is the face of AC Transit and a well-known operator in the District. Operator James is extremely positive, loves his job and always has something nice or funny to say to co–workers and passengers. Passengers love riding his bus!
RICHMOND DIVISION
Chris John Morse
Journey Level Mechanic
Chris John is a valuable addition to Division 3 and a highly experienced mechanic with an exceptional work ethic. Chris John excels in solving complex and challenging troubleshooting mechanical problems. He recently was able to repair a couple of coaches that had been out of service for some time. Chris John follows instructions and utilizes all resources to resolve issues. Chris John has excellent attendance, is punctual, and is safety conscious.
Avneet Dhaliwal
Bus Operator
Avneet Dhaliwal is a reliable and professional operator. Mr. Dhaliwal consistently attends work and takes extra assignments when asked, without any hesitation. Operator Dhaliwal is also courteous to both his passengers and co-workers. He is a true team player.
EAST OAKLAND DIVISION
Roberto Diaz
Journey Level Mechanic
Roberto is very reliable, helpful, and never hesitates on anything assigned to him. In the last couple of months, Roberto assisted with repairing some of the MCI’s and getting them ready after being out of service for almost a year. Communication is a vital trait with Roberto, consistently inputting detailed comments in Work Orders and passing accurate information to the Supervisor or Lead.
LaShaun Cornell
Bus Operator
Operator LaShaun Cornell is reliable, prompt, very professional and always courteous to passengers and co-workers. Ms. Cornell acts as a role model and a positive example for other employees. It is an honor to have Operator Cornell on the D4 team.
HAYWARD DIVISION
Angelica Dominguez
Lead Service Employee
Angelica is the day shift Lead Service Employee that is very dependable. When there is a task, Angelica executes it with pride promptly without hesitation. Recently, we have had a staff shortage, but Angelica takes the initiative to see if she can come in early or stay late to ensure that the workload gets done. Management appreciates your outstanding work ethic and dedication.

Bus Operator
Operator Iosefa Save takes pride in transporting passengers and ensuring their safety. He works hard and often overtime to help the District provide the maximum customer benefit. Mr. Save also maintains a smile and great enthusiasm for learning/growing professionally. Thank you and congratulations on being appointed our employee of the month.
