Service Changes effective Sunday, June 12

Effective on June 12, 2022, AC Transit will be implementing changes for Local, Transbay and Supplementary Service.

Upcoming changes include:

  • Extension of hours for earlier service on Line 217, and for service later in the evening on lines 33 and 54.
  • Lines 33, 805, and NL are relocated away from parts of Thomas L. Berkley Way (20th Street) and Harrison Street to Broadway and Grand Ave.
  • Bus lines and trips designed to serve schools are suspended for the summer.

Effective Sunday, June 12, 2022, the following changes affect multiple lines:

Thomas L. Berkeley Way and Harrison Street between Broadway and Grand Avenue

Lines 33, 805 and NL are changed to travel between the Uptown Transit Center and Harrison Street via Broadway and Grand Avenue. Stops on Thomas L. Berkeley Way at Franklin Street, Thomas L. Berkley Way at Webster Street, and Harrison Street south of Grand Avenue are not served.

The following stops are served heading north and east, toward Lake Merritt:

  • Broadway at Thomas L. Berkeley Way (lines 33 and 805)
  • Broadway at 22nd Street (lines 33 and 805)
  • Grand Avenue at Webster Street (lines 33 and 805)
  • Grand Avenue at Harrison Street (lines 805 and NL)
  • Harrison Street at Grand Avenue (Line 33)

The following stops are served heading west and south, away from Lake Merritt:

  • Grand Avenue at Harrison Street (lines 805 and NL)
  • Harrison St. on the north side of Grand Avenue (Line 33)
  • Grand Ave. at Valdez Street (lines 33 and 805)
  • Broadway at West Grand Avenue (lines 33 and 805)
  • Broadway at 19th Street (Line 33)

Uptown Transit Center

To accommodate buses making left turns onto Broadway, stops are reallocated in the Uptown Transit Center.

  • Toward downtown Oakland, lines 72, 72M, 72R and 802 use the stop closest to Broadway (#53888)
  • Toward MacArthur Boulevard and East Oakland, Lines 805, 840 and NL use the stop closest to Telegraph Avenue (#56565).
  • Toward San Francisco, Line NL uses the stop in the center of the block (#55558), along with lines 18, 72, 72M, 72R and 802.

Other changes effective Sunday, June 12:

Line(s) Description of Changes
33Service is extended later into the evening, with the last trip in each direction departing around 11:00 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends. Other minor schedule changes.
39 One trip leaving Fruitvale BART at 7:05 am is discontinued.
54 Schedule is made consistent on weekdays, and extended several hours on weekends. Service operates every 15 minutes from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays, and every 30 minutes from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekends.
57 Four trips added weekdays toward Foothill Square, and three trips added weekdays toward Emeryville, so that buses will operate every 17 minutes (instead of every 18 minutes). Other minor schedule changes.
217 Two trips added towards Milpitas BART, leaving Fremont BART at 6:00 am and 6:30 am. Other minor schedule changes.
LA One afternoon trip leaves San Francisco fifteen minutes later, at 5:55 pm. instead of 5:40 pm.
NX3 The trip leaving San Francisco at 4:55 p.m. discontinued (passengers should use trips leaving at 4:35 p.m. or 5:05 p.m.). Other minor schedule changes.
Other Trips that operate school days only are suspended for the summer. These are on lines 33, 51A, 72M, 76, 95, 97, 217, and 600 through 699. (Some school-day-only trips on lines 95 and 97 will continue to operate Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14.) Minor schedule changes are made on lines 1T, 6, 18, 51B, 52, 60, 72, 72M and 210.

“Minor schedule changes” are those that move the times of bus trips earlier or later by a few minutes.

New schedules and line maps are available at actransit.org. All lines have printable timetables available online, and pocket timetables are available on board buses for local bus lines and Transbay bus lines F, NL, O, and 800.
