January Employees of the Month

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, East Oakland, Hayward and Richmond. Winners from each of division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

SUPERVISON

Candice Canady

Transportation Supervisor

Supervisor Canady is consistently striving for excellence in all that she does for the Supervision department. Her dedication to her position is evident in her actions every day! She is an essential component of our Supervision team and always has a smile on her face.

CENTRAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY

Kevin Lamb

Parts Clerk

Through his positive attitude and willingness to tackle every task with enthusiasm and determination, Mr. Lamb has proven himself a valuable member of the Materials Department. Starting as a temporary employee and eventually coming on board as a permanent employee, Mr. Lamb has eagerly learned the skills and knowledge required to provide excellent material and logistical customer service. Mr. Lamb is a very much-welcomed addition to the Central Warehouse and Materials Department.

EMERYVILLE DIVISION

Eva Goodridge

Chief Dispatcher

Ms. Goodridge is a dedicated employee that takes pride in diligently completing her assignments. Chief Dispatcher Goodridge also shares a plethora of knowledge with trainees and the team daily. Ms. Eva is a true team player and an asset to the District.

Christopher Souza

Apprentice Mechanic

Christopher has shown that he is a good asset to AC transit. He gives his very best in every task that is assigned to him. Christopher is also willing to help his fellow co-workers and to assist them in every way possible. Christopher is a very capable apprentice mechanic with lots of knowledge and experience and is always willing to share that with others.

RICHMOND DIVISION

Albert McKenzie

Bus Operator

Albert McKenzie is a safe driver with great customer service skills. He receives many commendations from passengers and shows great commitment as an operator of twenty-three (23) years! Division 3 appreciates Operator McKenzie’s dedication and professionalism.

Bee Vang

Journey Level Mechanic

Bee is a great mechanic and takes on any task handed to him. He continues to learn the processes of troubleshooting and repairing our equipment. He shares his knowledge and assists co-workers when needed. Bee has been a great asset to Division 3.

EAST OAKLAND DIVISION

Erin Coven

Journey Level Mechanic

Erin has great work habits; he performs the duties given to him no matter where he may be needed on the shift. Mr. Coven performs majors, minors, driver write-ups and was diligent in the crankcase filter change campaign. It is nice to have a valued employee such as Mr. Coven on the late shift.

Michael Lancaster

Bus Operator

Operator Michael Lancaster is reliable, professional and always sharply dressed. He represents the district well in performance and appearance.

HAYWARD DIVISION

Nhan Nguyen

Service Employee

Nhan Nguyen has proven to be a key asset to Division 6 maintenance. He has a daily task of ensuring the district has clean and sanitary coaches for our ridership. Nhan always helps when needed for extra tasks and never hesitates to assist his co-workers when they are in need. Nhan always has a positive attitude and excellent work habits.

Jagrup Singh

Dispatcher

Division 6 can always count on Jagrup Singh to provide great customer service. Dispatcher Singh often receives operator praise regarding his positive attitude and helpful nature. BidWeb Trainer Singh also receives commendations for his organization skills, broad knowledge of policies and procedures. Division 6 staff and management appreciate Dispatcher/BidWeb Trainer Singh’s optimism, operator support (teamwork) and ability to ensure service gets out on the road. Congratulations, Mr. Singh!
