It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, East Oakland, Hayward and Richmond. Winners from each of division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

We are pleased to announce the “Employee of the Month” winners for October 2019.

SUPERVISION

Gregory Miller

Transportation Supervisor

Transportation Supervisor Gregory Miller is often categorized as a trustworthy and reliable team player. He completes assigned tasks and willingly volunteers to assist co-workers. Mr. Miller is a role model by example and an asset to the District.

CENTRAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY

Eric Hunt

Journey Mechanic

Mr. Hunt is a dedicated employee who is always willing to help his coworkers. He is instrumental in ensuring quality repairs are completed on every job he is given. Mr. Hunt is a huge asset to not only CMF but to the District as a whole. 

EMERYVILLE DIVISION

Joseph Borrero

Service Employee

Mr. Borrero is a good employee who drives productivity in his department by setting the example on work ethic, dedication to completing his tasks and a team player. Mr. Borrero demonstrates initiative and is very dependable without the need of being directed by supervision. Joseph is a true asset to AC Transit.

Jam Huang

Time Keeper

Timekeeper Jam Huang is an amazing timekeeper and professional. He always wears a big smile and maintains a team work mentality by assisting co-workers with payroll inquiries. Mr. Huang is a master at his job and a huge asset to Division 2.

RICHMOND DIVISION

LaJune Haney

Bus Operator

LaJune Haney has provided great passenger service since becoming an AC Transit operator in February 1992. Operator Haney is an exceptional operator that strives to get passenger to their destinations safely and on-time daily. Ms. Haney, Division 3 appreciates your hard work!

Britton Mansell

Electrician

Mr. Mansell has shown exceptional dependability, consistency, and problem-solving skills. His knowledge and skills of the facilities department have helped him shine and produce positive results.

EAST OAKLAND DIVISION

Dan Miles

Senior Body Mechanic

Mr. Miles has proven himself as an invaluable member of our maintenance team. Whether it’s helping us execute our body shop service campaigns, repairing coaches on the road or tackling challenging repairs in the shop Mr. Miles consistently rises to the occasion. We truly appreciate all he contributes to keeping our coaches on the road every day.

Elizabeth Williams

Bus Operator

Elizabeth Williams is a skilled bus operator and passionate trainer. Her ability to provide concise directions and instructions are often used to teach operators new routes, how to safely tie down wheelchairs and use new equipment. Ms. Williams plays an instrumental role in ensuring operators receive excellent training for many projects, such as the Salesforce Transit Center. Her experience and expertise are priceless.

HAYWARD DIVISION

Lamont Franklin

Bus Operator

Operator Lamont Franklin has demonstrated a great enthusiasm for learning and growing professionally. Mr. Franklin greets passengers with a smile and takes extra care to ensure passenger satisfaction. He consistently works overtime to achieve AC Transit’s service goals, maintains a positive attitude, and provides great customer service. Thank you and job well done, Mr. Franklin!

Adonis Reyes

Senior Body Mechanic

Mr. Reyes is a valuable asset to the maintenance team here at D6. His work ethic and attitude towards his co-workers are outstanding. Mr. Reyes is willing to accept extra tasks to keep our coaches in top condition. He is always willing to assist his co-workers and is very dependable.
